General Discussion:

There are State Government Architects in all Australian states and territories providing advice and design expertise to State Government, advocating for better design outcomes for architecture, urban design and infrastructure projects.

Opportunities articulated by Prof. Catherin Bull in keynote presentation to GANA: ‘possible system-wide agreement on basic standards of agreement, advice and methods – using design review as a mechanism for influence’.

IDC SA’s Integrated Design Review Panel Terms of Reference was provided and noted.

IDC SA and Design Council CABE relationship noted.

Proposition for national endorsement of design review, guidelines; best practice case studies, precedents to be explored.

A GANA proposal for an Australian Government Architect to be developed.
